Are there any legit car wrap companies?

Wrapify, Carvertise, and and Free Car Media are the most reputable wrap companies. However, these companies are not the only car wrap companies around. You should spend time investigating each company before signing up as a driver.

How do I avoid car wrap scams?

Avoid car wrap scams by looking into the legitimacy of each company. Check out the company on the Better Business Bureau’s website. Always question if a car wrap company says depositing money is urgent or if they charge a fee.

According to the Federal Trade Commission, don’t deposit any “urgent” checks and wire money to anyone. Legitimate car wrap companies will pay a car wrapping vendor directly. A legitimate company would only send you money that you’ve earned and should not charge you a fee.

Car wrap companies should check to see if you have a valid drivers license and insurance. You should also be able to find a customer service number.

Evaluate a company using the Better Business Bureau

The Better Business Bureau’s website is the fastest way to verify how legit a car wrap company is. Start by Googling, “Companies name + BBB” and the Better Business Bureau’s website will come up.

For example, doing a Google search for “Carvertise BBB” brings me to the Bureau’s website.

Carvertise legitimate business

Carvertise is an accredited business and has been in business for 7 years. The company receives a rating of A-, which is really good! I can read customer reviews and find contact information for the company.

Check out the companies online reviews

Again, doing a simple Google search for a company can provide a lot of information. Searching for Nickelytics shows the company has favorable ratings. Google reviews give the company 4.1/5 stars and a 4.7/5 star on Facebook.

Additionally, you can find contact information for Nickelytics very easily.

What companies will pay you to wrap your car?

There are several companies which will pay you to wrap your car. Go through each company and see which one will be the best fit for you.

1.  Wrapify

Wrapify pays for visibility and campaigns usually last four weeks. You’re paid more for driving down a busy street than a highway to nowhere. Everything is tracked through Wrapify’s driving app.

Wrapify is available nationwide and works with the biggest brands. So you should be able to get paid to advertise on your car anywhere in the United States. Ridshare drivers working with Uber or Lyft are also able to get paid for wrapping their car.

Carvertise pays around $100 per month for a car wrap advertisement and is paid through direct deposit. Some campaigns pay up to $200 per month. Carvertise does say that you’ll earn between $300 and $1,200 per campaign, which generally lasts between 2 and 6 months!

3. Free Car Media

Most of free car media’s advertisements are rear window stickers. You are in charge of installing the stickers yourself. Generally, pay is around $50 per month for a rear window sticker.

4. Referral Cars

Referral cars works on commission based and non-commission based ads. Commission based allows you to get matched quickly and earn if business is referred. Referral cars says they are able to match 95% of people with a commission based advertisement.

Personally, I think earning a commission based on a car ad would be difficult. Referral Cars does have a 90 day Guarantee, which requires you to have proof of decal installation. Should you fail to make a commission, then submit your proof to earn a $100 gift card.

You should also consider that Referral Cars currently has an F rating by the BBB with 162 complaints. However, Referral Cars does maintain a rating of over 4/5 stars.

Some of the comments state that Referral Cars requires users to pay for the decals. Remember, avoid paying any of your own money when signing up for car wrap advertising.

5. Sticker Ride

6. Pay Me for Driving

Pay Me for Driving is only available in the St. Louis area only. Advertise for local companies.

Similar to Wrapify, Nickelytics requires you to drive 30 miles per day. Again, you’ll be paid more for driving through highly populated areas. You can still drive for Uber or Lyft while being apart of Nickelytics.

Current driving requirements include:

  • A valid drivers license
  • A car that is 2010 or newer
  • Work for a rideshare company (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, etc.)
  • Drive 30 miles per day, 150 miles per week, and 900 miles per month
  • Majority of driving done in target markets (Mostly busy cities)

Nickelytics claims the average driver earns between $400 to $500 per month! However, most of their drivers live in busy cities. As with any car wrap advertiser, money earned depends on the number of people seeing the ads.

How much do companies pay you to wrap your car?

Companies pay you to wrap your car depending on multiple factors. The wrap style and mileage you drive determines how much money your advertisement earns. Generally, you can expect to earn between $100 and $300 with a car wrap.

Obviously, car wrap advertising won’t make you rich. However, $300 is enough to cover gas or a car payment. Most ad campaigns will last between three to six months.

Is it worth it to wrap your car?

Generally, wrapping your car is only worth it if you drive a lot already. Most car wrap companies require you to drive a certain number of miles. Therefore, car wrap advertising wouldn’t be worth your time if you’re driving just to meet your mileage requirements.

Driving your car more uses more fuel and increases ware and tare on your vehicle. You won’t make enough money to cover fuel and car repair. However, high mileage drivers can earn money for driving they are doing anyway.

Personally, I drive 72 miles five days per week. I estimate that my car uses 80 gallons of gas per month. At the current fuel price of $2.50 per gallon, I spend around $200 on gas alone. It makes sense for me to use car wrap advertising to help cover my expenses.

Summary: Legitimate car wrap advertising companies

As you can see, there are several legitimate car wrap companies. Companies include Wrapify, Free Car Media, Carvertise, Referral Cars, Sticker Ride, Pay Me for Driving, and Nickelytics. You should take time to vet each car wrap company prior to signing up for driving.

The best way to avoid a scam is by researching the company. A quick Google search will bring up the companies Better Business Bureau’s website. I would look for companies who are accredited and have a good rating.

However, just because a company isn’t accredited doesn’t mean it’s a scam. A lot of car wrap companies won’t respond to complaints on the BBB’s website. BBB rating might also suffer if a company hasn’t been around for a long time.

The FTC recommends against depositing any “urgent money.” You should also avoid sending money to any company or vendor. Legitimate car wrap advertising companies will not charge you a fee and should ask for your driver’s license.
