How to make an extra $100 per week online

Making an extra $100 per week involves starting an online business of sorts. Sell products, build a platform for display advertising, or provide a service. Invest profits into income-generating assets to increase the income you receive every month.

There are many different ways to sell a product. You can create your own product, sell someone else’s product, or flip products.

Selling products is a good way to separate your time from income. The amount of money you make is directly proportional to the items you’re selling, not hours in a chair.

Building a platform for display advertising is one of the most passive forms of income. Usually, building a platform, like a Blog, takes time in the beginning. However, once you have a successful platform then you are earning money from work you did previously.

Providing a service is one of the quickest ways to generate profit. You are still exchanging your time for money, but you get paid really quickly.

So the question is, do you want to put a lot of upfront work now with little payout now but huge potential? Or, do you want to continue to do work and get paid quickly?

Blogging

Blogging is a very passive source of income once you’ve figured out your system. Generally, bloggers can earn $1,000 for every 30,000 pageviews. Therefore, to earn $400 per month, you would have to get around 12,000 pageviews every month.

A new blogger who focuses on search engine optimization can earn $100 per week in less than a year. However, the hardest part about blogging is finding out how to get people to your website. Once you figure that out, it’s just a matter of repeating a simple system.

Most new bloggers make the mistake of focusing on monetization. However, you can’t sell anything to a Ghost Town. Therefore, most bloggers should focus on increasing traffic and monetize through display ads.

Virtual Assistant

Virtual assistants are an assistant to online businesses. Each company would have you perform different tasks which help the company grow. You might be managing email, freelance writers, or anything else.

You would only need one client to be able to earn $100 per week. The more clients and time you have to commit, the higher your earnings potential is.

Freelance Writing

You can earn $100 per week freelance writing by writing as few as two articles per month. The hardest part about being a freelance writer is maintaining a strong clientele. Obviously, a freelance writer needs the skillset to write clear and concise blog articles.

Most new freelance writers charge between $0.05 and $0.10 per word. Therefore, a 2,000 word article would make you $200. I would imagine that you would be able to write at least four articles per month.

Create on YouTube

YouTube is another Avenue for making $100 per week by publishing video content. In order to be successful on YouTube, you need to have a consistent publishing schedule. The more videos you publish, the better relationship you will develop with your audience.

Ideally, you are selecting an area of Interest or niche for your videos to be about. For example, you might talk about weight loss or investing in the stock market. Therefore, people who come to your videos will subscribe if they like your content.

You can monetize your videos in a number of ways. Most commonly, YouTubers will have display advertising which pays time when someone watches. Alternatively, you can sell affiliate products, your own products, or include sponsored content in the videos.

YouTube may sound like an easy business, but it’s a lot of work. You are going to need a lot of time to come up with creative, unique, and helpful videos.

Amazon and Ebay sales

Amazon and eBay are perfect if you like to shop for deals and then resell products for a profit. You can find items at your local store which are selling for more on eBay and Amazon. Both eBay and Amazon have thousands of buyers ready to buy your product.

You can even start selling for as little as a thousand bucks. Find products with profit potential, sell the products, and then reinvest the profit into your business.

Sell clothing on Poshmark

Just like Amazon and eBay, Poshmark is your spot for selling clothes for money. Poshmark is a little different because it’s like a social network, but for fashion. Regardless, someone who is interested in making $100 per week can easily do so on Poshmark.

You can find tons of jeans, purses, and other clothing items at yard sales and thrift shops. Most people just want the stuff out of their house. You can get a really great deal and sell it for gently used.

Honestly, it’s not that difficult to get a whole stack of jeans for five bucks at a yard sale. Those same jeans might sell for $20 each on Poshmark.

Who wouldn’t want to make $200 from a $5 investment?

Flip items on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace

Speaking of people wanting to get things out of their house, Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace are amazing. You can easily earn $100 per week finding something on Craigslist and then selling it on Facebook Marketplace.

Obviously, it’s going to take a lot of work keeping up with the marketplace on a daily basis. You are going to have to travel to pick items up and to drop items off. Flipping items can be a very time-consuming business.

However, flipping items can be fun for those that like to search for deals. Sometimes, you can find something for free on Craigslist and sell it for profit on Facebook.

Sell consultations

You can also sell consultations if you are good and knowledgeable in a specific area. People are willing to pay money for someone that can help them lose weight, paper money, or solve their problems.

Unfortunately, you can also find a lot of bad Consultants. If you are not good or knowledgeable and it shows you will not stay employed for long.

However, it’s not that difficult to earn $100 per week with Consulting. You only need two clients per week at $50 per month to make $100 per week. So eight clients per month would catch you your $400 per month.

Ultimately, you decide what rate you are charging for your service. You just need to make sure your clients are getting good value. There are thousands of people out there in need of what you have to offer.

Affiliate marketing on Twitter

I would say that Twitter is a good place to make $100 per week, but it’s really good for making at least $1,000 per week. In my small Twitter community, I see plenty of accounts earning $1,000 per week selling products on Twitter.

You’d be surprised, but it only takes less than a year to build up a substantial Twitter audience. When your Twitter audience is interested in a specific niche, selling becomes easy.

However, Twitter is a very active platform. In order to be successful, you are going to have to tweet often. The more you tweet, the more you earn.

Social media management

Just like virtual assistants, social media management is a service you can provide to earn $100 per week. You would only need about one client to earn $400 per month.

There are a lot of bloggers who need someone to manage their social media accounts. Even better, they need someone who can grow their social media.

The amount that you’ll get paid is directly related to the value you can provide. Can you help the company get thousands of  subscribers per week? Are you providing good relevant content which is in line with the brands look and feel?

Buy profitable websites

With one single investment, you could be earning $100 per week for the rest of your life. Websites are a very inexpensive investment for those that know how to run them. Luckily for you, you can buy an existing profitable website for a small price.

Typically, websites will sell for 32 times their monthly profit. Therefore, a website with a monthly income of $400 might sell for $12,800.

Sometimes you can find even better deals. For example, I was browsing Flippa and ran across a website with $1,000 per month in profit selling for $20,000. In 20 months, I would earn back my initial investment.

Buy Dividend stocks and REITs

Your business profits can be used to purchase more income. Personally, I like to buy dividend and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs)  exchange traded funds (ETFs).

An exchange traded fund is a collection of stocks which you can buy for one low price. It provides diversification, so I can keep buying a well-diversified fund without thinking about it.

Certain ETFs and REITs will pay a dividend around 3 to 4% of the share price. Therefore, a $100k investment would make $3,000-$4,000 per year by simply owning it.

Dividend stocks and REITs are simply a good way to supplement your business income. The income they provide can help supplement your income while growing your business.

Private label

Private label is when you take a generic product and slap your own label on to the product. Someone else manufactures everything, but you can sell the product as your own. Private labeling gives you the advantage of focusing on marketing than product creation.

Depending on your profit margins, you would only need to sell a few items to make $100 per week.

One of the most common examples of private labeling is supplements. The company might make one formula for protein powder which is sold under hundreds of different private labels. The only difference is the label and who sells the product.

Dropshipping and Ecommerce

Finally, setting up your own dropshipping and Ecommerce store can make $100 per week. You can combine the two to make an Ecommerce store which does 100% dropshipping. However, dropshipping and Ecommerce come with their own problems.

Dropshipping is where you find a product at one store and sell it for higher at another. However, you don’t actually buy the product until you’ve received an order. For example, you sell a leaf blower on Amazon which you found cheaper at Home Depot.

You can create your own Ecommerce store with the intent to dropship. Any time someone places an order on your store, you buy the item and ship it directly to them.
